How to Take Your Measurements for ÉVORA Shapewear London
Learn how to take accurate body measurements for post-surgery fajas, Stage 1 compression garments, Stage 2 custom-made fajas and premium Colombian shapewear at ÉVORA Shapewear London.
Choosing the right shapewear begins with the right measurements. At ÉVORA Shapewear London, accurate sizing is essential to help you find the most suitable fit for your body, your stage of recovery and your specific garment needs.
Whether you are looking for a Stage 1 post-surgery compression garment, a Stage 2 faja, or everyday premium shapewear, taking your measurements correctly will help you achieve better support, comfort and shaping.
When should I measure myself?
For Stage 1 compression garments
We recommend purchasing your Stage 1 compression garment before surgery, as it is needed immediately after your procedure. To choose the correct size, use your current waist and hip measurements together with the size chart available on the product page.
If you are unsure, please follow the measuring instructions below or contact us for personalised guidance.
For custom-made Stage 2 fajas
For a custom-made Stage 2 faja, we recommend measuring yourself after your surgical procedure to achieve the best possible fit. The ideal time is usually 4 to 5 days post-op, preferably after your massage, when swelling has begun to settle more evenly.
If you need support with measuring or sizing advice, our team will be happy to guide you.
How do I measure myself?
You will need:
a soft measuring tape
a pen or phone to note your measurements
a mirror, if possible
For the most accurate results:
measure yourself without clothing, or with minimal clothing
measure yourself first thing in the morning, if possible
stand naturally without adjusting your posture
do not suck in your stomach
do not tighten the tape too much
do not let the tape sit too loose
We recommend standing sideways in front of a mirror to make sure the tape is level and correctly positioned. The measuring tape should lie smoothly against the body without digging into the skin or slipping down.
Measurement points
1. Underbust
Wrap the measuring tape directly under the bust.
2. Waist
Measure around your natural waistline, which is usually located above the belly button and below the rib cage.
A simple guide: if you bend to the side, the crease that forms is your natural waist.
Keep the tape level and relaxed. Do not pull your stomach in, as this will affect the accuracy of the size.
3. Torso
Measure from under the bust down to the top of the crotch.
4. Hips
Measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks. Start at one hip, pass the tape around the back and return to the starting point. Make sure the tape stays level all around.
5. Thigh
Measure around the widest part of the thigh.
For shapewear with sleeves
If you are measuring for a garment with sleeves, please also take the following measurements:
Sleeve circumference
Measure around the highest part of the shoulder, passing around the armpit and continuing down to the desired sleeve area.
Sleeve length
Measure from the top of the shoulder, where the arm begins, down to the desired sleeve length.
